I’m currently working on a senior origination hire with a highly regarded specialist lender in the ABL market. This is a sophisticated front-office role focused on larger, more complex transactions, typically ranging from £25m–£120m, including cross-border situations and multi-asset structures.
The platform is well established, highly collaborative, and selective in the deals it pursues. They are not looking for high-volume origination. The focus is on quality opportunities, strong management teams, and transactions where they can genuinely add value.
Facilities are typically structured against:
- Receivables
- Property
- Inventory
- Plant & machinery
The team works across a broad range of sectors including manufacturing, transport & logistics, recruitment, wholesale, food & beverage, and pharma distribution. This is not traditional volume-led ABL.
They are looking for someone who can:
- Get under the skin of a business
- Understand strategy and management capability
- Structure more nuanced transactions
- Operate with commercial judgement and gravitas
Naturally they will consider people from the ABL world but they will also consider people from debt advisory, restructuring advisory, or leveraged finance.
The London team has a genuinely collegiate culture. Targets are team-oriented rather than individualistic, with an emphasis on collaboration and shared success. Typically the team will complete 6–8 quality deals per year.
The business also has a flat structure and an empowered culture where individuals have a genuine voice internally. Excellent opportunity for an experienced ABL professional looking to work on larger, more sophisticated transactions within a high-quality platform.
