This isn’t your typical real estate loan asset management role. You would be joining a small team which is building a bank (servicing the SME market) from the ground up. Part of their strategy is to finance platforms. They currently back a handful of UK property lenders (covering development, bridging, and commercial loans). They are a high yield investor and always hold the final credit decision. They need to hire a loan portfolio manager. You won’t be managing the borrowers directly, you will be managing the lenders and will have decision making authority. This will include the management of NPLs. They need 8-12 years of real estate lending experience (with some portfolio management) gained in a real estate debt fund, a commercial bank (you need to be happy managing smaller loans), or a boutique / challenger bank. As well as portfolio management there will be lots of interesting project work to be involved with as they build the business. A full job spec is available for people with the relevant experience.
