London (hybrid working) Salary up to £150k. We’re working on a newly created hire within a well-capitalised real estate lender looking to grow its loan book through more active partnerships with other lenders. In this context, capital markets isn’t about bond issuance or securitisation. It’s about doing more business alongside other lenders — whether that’s participating in bank syndicates or partnering with mezzanine providers who need a senior lender to sit alongside them. The goal is to deploy more capital by being a flexible, credible counterparty in the market.
Why this is worth a look:
- Board-approved growth plan – this isn’t speculative.
- Capital markets is a defined strategic priority with senior buy-in across the platform.
- Capital allocated to execute – they have balance sheet and appetite to grow, so you’re not constrained by funding conversations.
- First hire in capital markets – you’ll shape the function, define the approach, and build out the capability over time.
- Collegiate, low-ego culture – strong team dynamic, collaborative leadership, and a genuine focus on sustainable working patterns.
The role: You’ll be responsible for originating opportunities across the UK & Europe, working closely with the broader origination team to grow the platform’s presence. The remit includes sourcing new clients, structuring transactions and engaging at senior level internally and externally.
What they need: They need an experienced lender with 10+ years of UK real estate finance experience and a strong network of lenders which are active in the UK market. This is likely to come from a loan syndications team or a debt advisory firm.
