About the job: Supporting the existing Lead Commercial Analyst, you will report directly to the Head of Commercial within the Club’s Product and Commercial Department. This exciting opportunity supports the development and performance of many of our core products and services: UK campsites, ExperienceFreedom.co.uk glamping, overseas travel, financial services, membership and loyalty. Designed for an experienced data-analysis and insight professional, you will be highly competent in extracting knowledge from multi-dimensional data.

You will support the Lead Commercial Analyst in:

  • Investigating complex business problems
  • Reporting on business performance
  • Identifying ‘root-causes’

Plus, you will move the Club forward by applying modern, advanced data science and predictive intelligence: supporting our CRM, membership acquisition/retention, and increasing the lifetime value of our one million members.

Purpose of the job: To collaborate with and support the existing Lead Commercial Analyst in providing all commercial analysis and insight across core Club products. This includes:

  • Performance reporting
  • Scenario modelling
  • Root-cause and trend analysis
  • Demand/revenue forecasting and phasing
  • Problem solving

You will evolve and distribute KPI reporting and performance dashboards and introduce new data-science driven predictive analytics and models (which may include the introduction of new supporting tools/systems such as DataBricks or Snowflake). You will also transpose your expertise by supporting the skills development of the existing Lead Commercial Analyst.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • BAU reporting & MI: Provide accurate and timely Management Information (MI) and performance reporting. Identify and track core KPIs, build and distribute interactive dashboards to colleagues and maintain a central repository of standardised reports.
  • Analysis & insight: Evaluate multiple data sources to investigate complex business problems and draw out knowledge, providing ‘actionable insights’ to guide product development and business strategy.
  • Commercial modelling: Use data to build economic models to identify the cost-benefit outcomes of potential scenarios (supporting for example marketing initiatives, commercial promotions, product developments etc).
  • Predictive analytics & modelling: Introduce and apply reusable predictive modelling utilising data-science techniques to support performance in key areas such as membership (architect models for lapse probabilities), UK campsites (booker propensity modelling) and lifetime value (purchase behaviours across UK campsites, travel and financial services).
  • Demand/revenue forecasting & phasing: Support the Lead Commercial Analyst in forecasting and phasing demand, yield and revenue across UK campsites and membership joins/renewals as part of the annual budgeting process (noting there is a dynamic occupancy system in place delivered by a Revenue Management System).
  • AI & automation leadership: Act as a lead for AI adoption across the marketing / commercial / product teams to accelerate insight generation and deliver efficiencies.
  • Market intelligence & insight: Synthesise structured and unstructured data to provide broader understanding of competitors pricing / product propositions and support the Research & Insights manager in identifying changing trends amongst consumers.
  • Operational excellence: Support our IS colleagues in building and maintaining a “single source of truth” by ensuring all data pipelines and processes are robust. Lead initiatives to support a data quality roadmap to ensure modelling and reporting is based on sufficient suitable data quality.

Essential skills & experience required:

  • Data analysis and insight: Data preparation, modelling, analysis and visualisation techniques including predictive analysis, business intelligence, pattern recognition, economic modelling.
  • Expert data manipulation: Expert proficiency in Excel / GSheets for daily reporting and scenario modelling is essential.
  • BI & visualisation: Proficiency in Tableau / similar to create dynamic dashboards.
  • Commercial acumen: A deep understanding of commercial drivers, financial terminology, and the levers available to influence bottom-line surplus.
  • Collaborative autonomy: A self-starter capable of working alone on deep-dive technical tasks while also acting as a strategic partner to the wider Commercial, Product and Revenue Management teams.
  • Integrity & accuracy: You possess a high degree of intellectual integrity and maintain a “zero-error” mindset for both daily reports and complex models.
  • Predictive & inquisitive mindset: You don’t just ask “what happened?”; you hunt for the root cause and can build the algorithms that explain “what will happen next.”
  • Compelling storytelling: The ability to distill complex data and multi-variable models into actionable, visually engaging strategies for non-technical senior stakeholders.
  • Programming & predictive modelling: Advanced skills in Python or R for building and deploying predictive models (e.g. Random Forest, XGBoost). Machine Learning.
  • Data engineering: Advanced SQL skills for transforming and aggregating large-scale datasets from diverse sources.
  • AI integration: Practical experience or strong knowledge in leveraging AI/LLMs.
  • Academic requirement: Educated to Degree level in a highly numerical field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Physics).
