About you

You’re commercially sharp, highly organised, and energised by closing deals at pace without compromising quality. You know how to build trust quickly, negotiate confidently, and keep momentum through complex conversations. You’re equally comfortable speaking with passionate enthusiasts, experienced collectors, dealers, and first‑time buyers. You understand the psychology behind buying and selling vehicles and know how to create win‑win outcomes while protecting company margins. You thrive in fast‑moving environments where autonomy, ownership, and attention to detail matter. You’re proactive, resilient, and naturally relationship‑driven, with a genuine passion for classic and performance vehicles. You speak fluent English and French, communicate clearly, and enjoy working cross‑functionally with sales, auctions, and customer support teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

About the role

You’ll own and drive post‑auction deal activity, helping buyers and sellers successfully complete transactions after an auction ends without reserve being met or where additional negotiation opportunities exist. Your focus will be on maximising conversion, profitability, and customer satisfaction while maintaining speed and operational excellence. You’ll proactively identify opportunities, negotiate effectively, and build long‑term relationships with customers and collectors across the market. This role combines commercial negotiation, relationship management, automotive expertise, and operational execution. You’ll also play a key role in developing a network of buyers and sellers, supporting valuation discussions, and contributing market insight back into the wider auctions team.

Responsibilities

  • Own post‑auction negotiations: Drive successful post‑auction deals between buyers and sellers while maximising conversion and profitability.
  • Deliver commercial outcomes: Consistently achieve monthly deal volume, margin, and fee discipline targets.
  • Maintain deal momentum: Progress opportunities quickly and proactively to achieve fast close times and minimise drop‑off.
  • Build trusted relationships: Establish credibility and rapport with buyers, sellers, collectors, and dealers across multiple markets.
  • Support international customers: Deliver an excellent customer experience across English and French‑speaking audiences.
  • Provide valuation expertise: Apply strong market knowledge to support vehicle valuations, reserve pricing discussions, and negotiation strategy.
  • Identify matching opportunities: Build and maintain a network of buyers and sellers to proactively connect customers with relevant vehicles.
  • Ensure operational accuracy: Maintain high attention to detail across deal terms, documentation, communications, and CRM updates.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally: Work closely with auctions, customer support, and commercial teams to improve conversion and customer experience.
  • Contribute market insight: Share customer feedback, pricing trends, and competitive intelligence to improve auction performance and strategy.

The skills, attributes and experience you must have

  • Strong automotive knowledge: Deep understanding of classic and/or performance vehicles, including market trends and valuations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills: Proven ability to influence outcomes while balancing customer experience and commercial performance.
  • Fluent English communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Fluent French communication: Professional fluency in French is essential.
  • Relationship‑building ability: Experience building trust quickly with customers, clients, or stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness: Strong business judgement with experience balancing revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Bias toward action: Ability to work with urgency, prioritise effectively, and maintain momentum across multiple deals.
  • High attention to detail: Consistently accurate and organised in fast‑moving operational environments.
  • Comfort with CRM systems: Experience managing pipelines, customer communication, and reporting within CRM or sales platforms.
  • Results‑oriented mindset: Motivated by measurable outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The skills, attributes and experience it would be nice to have

  • Additional language skills: Other European languages would be advantageous.
  • Auction marketplace experience: Experience working within automotive auctions, marketplaces, or brokerage environments.
  • Collector car network: Existing relationships within the enthusiast, dealer, or collector community.
  • Pricing and valuation expertise: Experience setting reserve prices or assessing vehicle market value.
  • Startup experience: Comfortable operating in high‑growth, evolving businesses with ambiguity and pace.

This role probably isn’t for you if

  • You struggle with pace: You find it difficult to manage multiple live conversations and maintain urgency.
  • You dislike accountability: You’re uncomfortable working toward measurable commercial targets and outcomes.
  • You avoid negotiation: You prefer highly process‑driven roles with limited commercial interaction.
  • You overlook details: You struggle to maintain accuracy while moving quickly.
  • You wait for direction: You need constant structure or instruction rather than proactively solving problems and driving activity.
