Job Summary
This position involves efficient supervision of the Goods In / Out and Stores areas, working within our Operations function. The role has responsibility for the day-to-day smooth operation of Stores and Warehouse, working closely with the Warehouse, Sales Operations, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams to ensure that planned weekly shipments are achieved. The role is ideally suited to those with prior experience of running Inventory/Stores/Warehouse operations, interacting with an ERP system, and defining systems and processes such as cycle counting to maintain stock accuracy, picking and inventory management in line with ISO 9001 certification, and logistics ensuring orders are delivered to schedule. Line management of a small team will be a key element of this role, encompassing regular one to one check-ins, objective setting and reviews. Daily supervision of the team will include overseeing and prioritising work programmes to ensure the team work to schedule and uphold the high-quality standards required. Our Manufacturing and Operations teams are close knit and highly motivated with a keen interest in the products they create. Key Responsibilities
- Goods In Processing; initial inspection ensuring parts match description, quantity and quality required and actioning any non-conformities
- Goods Out Supervision; overseeing daily shipping and warehousing activity
- Picking and supervising warehouse team to pick parts for work orders, sales orders and RMA repairs
- Ensuring that correct parts are picked and supplied to meet the Work Order schedule
- Developing and communicating the parts and stores picking process, in line with ISO 9001
- Processing and developing the part defect procedures, including spare part / RMA part transfers and defective part returns to suppliers
- Overseeing and conducting regular cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory is accurate
- Attending cross-functional meetings to manage inventory efficiently to required schedules, providing regular reports on key issues
- Supervising and motivating a small team, to ensure their performance is appropriate for their roles
- Line management of the team, encompassing regular one to one check-ins, objective setting and reviews
- Developing and training the team on any changes to processes / systems
- Ensuring that correct defined processes are adhered to, collaborating with colleagues across Operations, Purchasing and Manufacturing to identify any required improvements
- Keeping the warehouse and stores working environment well maintained and managed
Essential Qualifications
- Five years’ experience in a warehouse environment or in a similar role
- At least 1 years’ experience line managing one or more people
- Experience of ERP/MRP Systems
- Understanding of product test cycles and the ability to balance workload flexibly to meet changing priorities, based on incoming orders
- Experience implementing and maintaining Lean Manufacturing | 5S
- Strong financial understanding of implications of inventory management decisions
- Flexible communication, alongside excellent and empathic people skills
- The ability to understand and contribute to the company’s longer-term goals, balanced with first-hand experience of practical tasks and a willingness to assist team members flexibly when required
- The capacity to manage own time effectively, prioritising conflicting tasks as appropriate and seeking guidance as needed
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills with ability to produce high quality documentation when required
- Technical Qualification in Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Logistics, Systems Electronics or similar
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- NetSuite ERP experience
- Interest in and knowledge of, video or lighting for live entertainment
