This is a pivotal role shaping the strategic technology direction of a multi‑year, multi‑market programme that will redefine how the business operates. You’ll work at the heart of a cross‑functional delivery team - partnering with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and the Head of RFID - to ensure the successful rollout of both software and hardware in store. Your expertise will guide vendor selection, solution blueprinting, integration strategy, and architectural governance across the programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set the technical direction for the global RFID rollout, ensuring solutions are scalable, robust, and aligned with enterprise strategy.
- Provide hands‑on architectural leadership across multiple workstreams, ensuring coherence across the solution landscape.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Security, Data Platform, and other Architecture Leads to remove complexity and deliver a holistic, enterprise‑aligned solution.
- Mentor associate and solution architects, promoting reusable patterns and strategic technology choices.
RFID Solution Ownership
- Lead the end‑to‑end design and implementation of RFID in store, including software, hardware, and integration components.
- Select tag technology and establish EPCIS platforms for product‑ and item‑level tracking.
- Ensure the right hardware and software are procured to meet business and technical requirements.
- Work closely with an Infrastructure Solution Architect to ensure store network readiness and alignment with infra standards.
Technical Strategy & Governance
- Own the blueprint solution design and produce key architectural artefacts.
- Define and govern integration strategies into Oracle Retail and the enterprise data lakehouse.
- Provide architectural oversight of low‑level designs and ensure quality throughout delivery.
- Drive vendor and supplier management, acting as a key decision‑maker in technology selection.
What You Bring
- Expert‑level experience with RFID software and strong knowledge of RFID hardware.
- Proven track record implementing RFID solutions in retail stores, ideally from the ground up.
- Experience designing and deploying EPCIS platforms and tag technology.
- Strong background in enterprise‑scale solution architecture across multiple domains.
- Ability to lead complex technical programmes with both strategic vision and delivery focus.
- Confident decision‑maker with experience in vendor selection and supplier management.
- Deep understanding of integration patterns, data flows, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
