Full-Time (37 Hours), permanent (Monday to Thursday 8.00-4.30pm and Friday 8.00-1.00pm)

Salary: £21,200 - £25,200 Depending on age and previous practical experience

Your Role:

Ever wondered how minibuses, welfare vehicles and specialist vehicles are built? Just finished a college course or a DIY enthusiast who loves practical work? This could be the perfect role for you. Want to learn a hands-on trade where you can actually see what you’ve made roll out the door? We’re looking for a Trainee Coachbuilder to join our growing team. You don’t need previous industry experience; we will train you from the ground up. If you enjoy practical work, using tools, and learning new skills, this could be the start of a long-term career.

What you’ll be doing:

As a trainee, you’ll work alongside one of our experienced coachbuilders and learn how to build and convert specialist vehicles for:

  • Minibuses
  • Welfare vehicles

You’ll be taught everything you need to know on the job, developing skills in:

  • Using hand and power tools safely
  • Vehicle body building and fitting
  • Interior and exterior conversions
  • Quality finishing and attention to detail

What we’re looking for:

We don’t need years of experience - we’re more interested in attitude and potential. You should be:

  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn
  • Practical (DIY or hands-on hobbies are a big plus)
  • Reliable, flexible and hardworking
  • A good team player
  • Proud of doing a job properly

Your development will involve becoming competent in:

  • Cutting windows in the sides of vehicles
  • First fixing wiring for interior lights and other electrical components
  • Cutting out roof light openings
  • Laying flooring in the rear of the vans
  • Insulating the inside of the vehicles prior to panelling/trimming
  • Fitting windows
  • Trimming the interior of vehicles and fitting seats
  • Fitting leisure batteries
  • Wiring electrical components including inverters
  • Fitting sinks, toilets and heaters to the inside of vehicles

Licence/Certification: Driving licence (D1 preferred but not essential)
