The Role

We are looking for a Junior Mechanic / Service Technician to join our workshop team. This role would suit someone with a recognised motor vehicle qualification and around 2-3 years practical experience in a workshop environment. You should be confident carrying out general servicing, inspections and routine mechanical work, while still being keen to develop your skills in more technical repair and diagnostic tasks. You will be joining a supportive and experienced team, where you will be expected to work hard, take pride in your work and contribute positively to the wider business. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to develop further and progress as your skills, confidence and technical ability grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general servicing, inspections and routine maintenance work.
  • Complete basic mechanical repairs to a good standard.
  • Support the preparation of vehicles for sale or customer handover.
  • Work safely and follow workshop procedures at all times.
  • Identify and report defects, issues or additional work required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional working area.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the workshop, preparation and sales teams.
  • Continue to develop skills in technical repair, fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • Take pride in delivering high-quality work that reflects CVM World's standards.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A recognised motor vehicle qualification, ideally at Level 2 or Level 3.
  • Around 2-3 years practical workshop experience.
  • Confidence completing general servicing and routine mechanical work.
  • A good basic understanding of vehicle systems and maintenance requirements.
  • A willingness to learn and develop more advanced technical and diagnostic skills.
  • A careful, methodical and safety-conscious approach.
  • A full UK driving licence, or willingness to obtain one if not already held.
  • Experience working in a garage, dealership, preparation centre or vehicle workshop environment.
