Independent Bodyshop
We are recruiting an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / Bodyshop Estimator to join a well-established independent bodyshop in Twickenham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional, owner-run automotive business with a strong local reputation and a focus on delivering high-quality repairs and customer service.
The Role
As Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator, you'll be responsible for assessing damaged vehicles and producing accurate repair estimates while working closely with customers, technicians, insurers and suppliers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting vehicles and assessing accident damage
- Producing accurate repair estimates
- Identifying required parts, labour and repair methods
- Liaising with insurance companies and engineers
- Discussing repairs and timescales with customers
- Obtaining authority for additional work where required
- Working closely with Paint, Panel and MET Technicians
- Monitoring repairs and keeping customers updated
- Ensuring estimates accurately reflect the work required
- Helping maintain an efficient flow of work through the bodyshop
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with previous experience in vehicle damage assessment, estimating or bodyshop operations. Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, VDA or Bodyshop Estimator
- Good understanding of modern vehicle repair methods
- Experience using bodyshop estimating systems
- Strong knowledge of accident damage and repair processes
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Confidence dealing with insurers and engineers
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy bodyshop team
- ATA/VDA accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
