🔧 The Role: Inspection & Test Technician

You’ll join our Inspection & Test Team, ensuring the equipment we produce is safe, compliant and fully functional. Working from electrical schematic drawings and project‑specific Hardware Test Specifications, you’ll carry out inspections and tests aligned with LVD, EMC and customer standards.

The role is primarily office‑based, with occasional site work and customer acceptance testing.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

• Point‑to‑point wiring checks
• Equipment build & configuration inspections
• LVD electrical safety checks
• Earth bond continuity testing
• High‑voltage withstand testing
• Insulation resistance testing
• Power‑up, fusing & functionality checks
• Supporting Software Team testing where required
• Completing all test documentation and reports

You’ll work across a range of technologies including:

• PLC‑based automation control panels
• IT cubicles with computing & networking equipment
• Peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.)

✔️ What We’re Looking For

A skilled technician with experience testing wired assemblies — from individual backplates to fully assembled control systems — and the ability to:

• Read & interpret circuit diagrams, GA drawings & wiring schedules
• Inspect & test cubicles to company standards
• Use multimeters, flash testers, earth bond testers & other equipment
• Work within an ISO 9001 quality system
• Host customer acceptance/witness tests
• Work towards SC Clearance

🎓 Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates with a recognised Electrical/Electronic qualification such as:

• HNC/HND
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• C&G 2382
• Inspection & Test
• Completed apprenticeship or similar pathway
