We’re now looking for a Senior Hardware & Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team and support major UK projects in Energy Generation, Storage, and Transmission & Distribution.

As a Senior Hardware & Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle from concept and detailed design to manufacture, testing and site implementation. You’ll be responsible for producing high‑quality designs and engineering deliverables, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the delivery of safety‑critical infrastructure across the UK.
- Produce and review engineering drawings: SLDs, KLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, GAs, cable routing, termination schedules.
- Deliver electrical calculations, technical documentation, FDS, design intent documents and compliance matrices.
- Develop hardware test strategies, installation & test plans, and documentation for FAT/SAT.
- Assist with design reviews, change control, risk identification and engineering progress updates.
- Support site surveys, installation, commissioning and client engagement.
Strong experience using E‑Plan, AutoCAD Electrical or similar. Proven background in secondary systems, hardware or LV design for HV substations (132kV–400kV). Knowledge of P&C panel design, LVAC/DC systems, UPS, instrumentation wiring and marshalling. Understanding of transmission‑level plant interfaces (CBs, CTs, VTs, disconnectors, transformers). Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Experience in UK Transmission/Distribution P&C design. Site installation, testing or commissioning experience.
