This Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship is designed for future project professionals who want to develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to plan, lead and deliver successful projects in a complex engineering and technology environment. You’ll study towards a Level 6 Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship with Staffordshire University while gaining practical experience supporting live projects at Capula. The programme develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to deliver projects in line with defined objectives, stakeholder expectations, governance requirements, time, cost and quality standards.

Throughout the programme, you’ll explore:

  • Project planning, scheduling, monitoring and control
  • Stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership
  • Risk, issue, change and benefits management
  • Governance, financial control, reporting and project assurance

This programme is ideal if you are organised, proactive, confident communicating with others, and interested in how projects are delivered from initial planning through to successful completion.

During your apprenticeship, you will gain experience supporting project delivery across our engineering business. This may include:

  • Supporting project managers with planning, coordination, reporting and delivery activities
  • Helping to track project progress, milestones, actions, risks and issues
  • Preparing project documentation, meeting packs, status updates and performance reports
  • Working with internal teams, customers, suppliers and stakeholders to support effective communication
  • Developing an understanding of project governance, commercial awareness, quality, safety and compliance requirements

You’ll work alongside experienced project managers and engineering teams delivering market-leading systems for large-scale, business-critical automation and digital technology projects.

You will attend Staffordshire University through structured learning, developing academic knowledge and practical project management capability in areas such as:

  • Project governance and financial control
  • Business environment, strategy and organisational change
  • Estimating, planning, scheduling and resource management
  • Risk management, quality management and project assurance
  • Stakeholder communication, leadership and team development
  • Benefits management, reporting and continuous improvement

The apprenticeship typically runs over three years, plus an end-point assessment period, combining university study with workplace learning and off-the-job training.

Entry Requirements: Level 3 qualifications such as A-levels, BTEC, T-Level or equivalent, ideally in business, project management, STEM, digital, engineering or a related subject. GCSE Maths.
