Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Consultant with strong expertise in server (Windows/Linux), network, and security domains. This role is primarily focused on supporting day-to-day user requests, managing escalated (2nd/3rd tier) technical issues, and contributing to ongoing infrastructure projects. Please note that this role requires being in the office five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and resolution for server, networking, and security-related incidents and service requests
- Manage and troubleshoot issues across Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux environments (primarily Red Hat/CentOS)
- Respond to and resolve 2nd/3rd tier user escalations across desktop, server, and network domains
- Support and maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless systems (primarily Cisco-based)
- Conduct regular patching, hardening, and performance tuning of infrastructure systems
- Assist with security operations, including endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and log analysis
- Collaborate with other infrastructure and security teams to support project delivery and BAU enhancements
- Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation and SOPs
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical support outside business hours
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems and infrastructure support roles
- Strong experience with both Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat, CentOS)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP) and hands-on experience with Cisco technologies
- Experience in implementing or supporting infrastructure security controls, including patching, endpoint protection, and identity/access management
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware) and enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS)
- Exposure to scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools is a plus
- Prior experience in financial services or other regulated industries is preferred
