Job Description
Elite Governance Advisory Firm | Partner | London | Competitive compensation + bonus
About the Firm:
Our client is a specialist advisory firm based in London, dedicated to supporting corporate boards in enhancing their effectiveness, accountability, and long-term value creation. With over two decades of experience advising FTSE, private equity-backed, and international organisations, the firm has built a reputation for delivering rigorous, confidential, and insight-led board reviews and governance counsel. Their work spans board evaluations, director effectiveness benchmarking, governance diagnostics, and original thought leadership — often in collaboration with policy bodies, advocacy groups, and institutional investors. As the firm continues to expand, they are now seeking a new Partner to help lead client delivery, support junior team members, and contribute to the growth and intellectual direction of the practice.
About the Role:
This is a rare opportunity to join the leadership team of a highly respected boutique. As Partner, you will play a central role in delivering client engagements to the highest standard while confidently presenting findings to boards and senior stakeholders. You’ll combine subject matter credibility with clarity of communication, able to facilitate delicate conversations with Chairs, NEDs, and C-suite leaders. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in governance advisory work, analytically rigorous, and capable of managing project teams and client relationships with maturity and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver board effectiveness reviews, executive evaluations, and governance diagnostics across listed and private companies.
- Present findings with clarity, credibility, and diplomacy to senior audiences including Chairs, NEDs, and committee members.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients, supporting them on sensitive governance issues and repeat engagements.
- Oversee and guide junior consultants across multiple projects, providing intellectual direction, feedback, and mentorship.
- Contribute to internal firm growth, from refining delivery frameworks to supporting strategic initiatives and service innovation.
- Engage in external-facing activity (e.g. writing, speaking, or policy engagement) to further thought leadership if desired.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in governance advisory, board-level consulting, corporate strategy, investment, legal, or adjacent disciplines.
- Confident and credible in high-level client settings, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset, able to synthesise both qualitative and quantitative insights into clear, compelling narratives.
- Collaborative and team-oriented.
- Passion for good governance, long-term business sustainability, and high-quality advisory work.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with an appetite to shape the next phase of the firm’s growth and impact.
Compensation & Progression:
- £120,000–£180,000 base salary DOE.
- Annual performance bonus.
- Clear path to equity and deeper partnership involvement over time.
- Opportunity to shape both firm strategy and the future of board governance in the UK and beyond.
