About the Company: Our client is a UK-based technology company building innovative software for the financial services and tax sector. Their platform helps simplify complex financial workflows through automation, intelligent design and user-friendly digital tools. The company is growing and is looking for a junior technical hire who wants to build strong foundations in software testing and quality assurance.

The Role: We are looking for a Junior or Graduate QA Engineer who is curious, detail-oriented and keen to develop their skills in software testing. You will be supported by experienced engineers while learning how to design, execute and automate meaningful tests using Cypress and modern testing practices. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to gain hands-on experience in a real-world software environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Write and maintain end-to-end test cases for key user journeys
  • Build automated tests using Cypress, starting with core flows and gradually expanding coverage
  • Test successful user journeys and edge cases across multi-step financial workflows
  • Help identify, reproduce and clearly report bugs and issues
  • Work with developers to understand features and define expected behaviour
  • Support regression testing through automated test suites
  • Learn how to integrate tests into CI pipelines

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong interest in software testing, quality assurance or software development.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in testing/QA.
  • Some hands-on experience using Cypress, or similar end-to-end testing tools.
  • Understanding of testing concepts through academic work, personal projects, internships or commercial experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and curiosity about how systems behave.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to describe issues simply and accurately.
  • Interest in web applications and how they are built.
  • Exposure to React or TypeScript would be a bonus, but is not required.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to ask questions.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Java, TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of APIs or web services.
  • Familiarity with Git or CI/CD tools.
  • Personal projects involving testing, automation or web applications.
