We’re working with a Medical Device company in South Wales that is looking for a hands-on electronics contract focused on improving and validating existing hardware designs. This role is suited to an engineer who’s comfortable at the bench, enjoys solving real analogue problems, and can add value quickly in a lab environment.

The work will involve:

  • Improving and refining existing analogue / mixed-signal PCB designs
  • Supporting ongoing and new hardware development
  • Hands-on debugging, test, and lab-based verification
  • Investigating noise, stability, and signal integrity issues
  • Creating and executing structured test and verification activities
  • Working on low-voltage electronics (≈24V systems) within a controlled lab environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience with analogue and mixed-signal electronics
  • Proven PCB schematic and layout experience (Altium preferred)
  • Confident with bench-level debugging (scopes, probes, power analysis, etc.)
  • Comfortable working from existing designs and improving them
  • Background in test, verification, or validation rather than purely conceptual design
  • Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments is a plus

Important to know:

  • This is a hands-on, on-site role with the flexibility to work remotely which is driven by the work task.
  • We’re looking for someone who can add value quickly, not ramp for months.
  • This is not a production test or technician role.
  • Contract basis. Competitive hourly rate. Immediate / short-term start available. Outside IR35.
