Software Test Engineer (V&V) – 3 month contract – South Wales, on-site
We’re looking for a software tester to join a medical device company in South Wales on an initial three months. The job is hands‑on test execution on software that’s currently in development.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Working through a high volume of existing test cases against written requirements
- Recording results and raising defects in Helix ALM (if you’ve used HP ALM, Xray, TestRail or similar you’ll be fine)
- Testing software that runs on a physical device, so some of it is on the bench rather than at a desk
- Working to the test approach the team has already set
What they want from you:
- Solid manual testing experience – writing and executing test cases, defect logging, retesting
- Disciplined about following a defined process and documenting what you did
- Comfortable taking direction. This isn’t a role for redesigning the test strategy or rewriting procedures – the approach is set, they need someone to execute it well
- Able to be on-site five days a week in South Wales.
Nice to have but not essential:
- Medical device, defence, aerospace, automotive or any other regulated product background
- Experience testing software on hardware – consumer electronics, gaming machines, embedded, that sort of thing
- Experience writing test cases as well as executing them
