Peer Teaching Reps support the Teaching in a Capsule series by delivering short, structured teaching sessions to fellow pharmacy students. The aim is to promote collaborative learning, improve understanding of challenging topics, and build confidence in both teaching and communication.
What You Will Do
- Deliver one or more teaching sessions during the academic year – in person or online, depending on your preference.
- Choose a topic you feel confident in (clinical, calculations, OSCE skills, or any pharmacy-related subject).
- Prepare a short teaching plan or set of slides (support and templates provided).
- Encourage discussion, questions, and peer‑to‑peer learning.
- Share study tips, revision strategies, or personal learning methods.
- Work closely with CAPSULE committee members to schedule and organise your session.
What You Gain
- Experience in teaching, leadership, and academic communication.
- Strong evidence for your portfolio and interviews (e.g., NHS, prereg, or academic roles).
- Improved knowledge by revising topics in depth.
- Confidence in presenting to small groups.
- A certificate recognising your contribution to CAPSULE.
Who Can Apply
Any pharmacy student (Years 1–4), Pre‑reg pharmacist or qualified pharmacist who:
- Enjoys explaining concepts to others.
- Is enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to support their peers.
- Can commit to preparing and delivering at least one session.
