The risk technology team is responsible for building solutions to support Risk Managers and the CRO in their mission to guide Capstone’s Risk platform. We’re looking for a highly motivated UX engineer with a passion for technology and markets. You’ll be responsible for designing and building user experiences for the next generation of our risk and trading platform, collaborating with our engineers and investment teams across the firm. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional problem-solving skills, a collaborative mentality, and an ability to bring innovative ideas to life. The role offers great exposure to the many and varied areas of the hedge fund.
Responsibilities and Impact:- Contribute to our state-of-the-art cross-asset risk & trading platform, empowering risk management and decision making across our global investment teams.
- Design and build a modern, intuitive user interface at the core of our risk management function.
- Deliver innovative visualisations of complex, multi-dimensional datasets.
- Build out screens for displaying risk data in tabular and graphical formats, visualise time series data, and work closely with members of the business in helping them to realise the presentation of specific analytics developed by Capstone for alpha generation and risk management.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience building production level UIs using React or Angular.
- Worked in an environment where the UX interacts with data and systems via APIs and service calls.
- Basic experience with SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative team player with strong verbal communication skills and experience working with stakeholders; the desire to take ownership of various UI components and contribute directly is a key part of the role.
- 4+ years working experience, ideally in the financial industry (buy or sell side) but any other industry would be considered, based on your experience.
- 6+ years working experience in the financial industry (buy or sell side).
- Experience building enterprise solutions in Java or Python.
- Experience working with at least one financial asset class.
