We are representing a rapidly expanding global building consultancy with a growing footprint across the Midwest, including Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The firm has seen strong, sustained growth driven by its success in the data center and mission-critical sector. A recent strategic partnership with a leading global consultancy has further strengthened its technical capability, market reach, and long-term pipeline.
The business provides independent construction management, project delivery, and advisory services to a portfolio of Fortune 500 and hyperscale clients, with a heavy focus on data centers, critical infrastructure, and technology-led real estate. Their culture closely mirrors that of their tech clients: collaborative, fast-paced, and pragmatic, with real responsibility, minimal bureaucracy, and exposure to complex, high-value projects from day one.
The Role - Construction Manager
Based in Milwaukee, this role offers the opportunity to lead construction delivery on large-scale data center and mission-critical projects across the Midwest. You’ll be responsible for managing contractors, overseeing site execution, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with client expectations.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Construction Manager who wants to work on technically complex projects, take ownership of major programs, and grow within a consultancy that is scaling quickly and investing heavily in its US platform.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead on-site construction delivery for large-scale data center and mission-critical projects.
- Manage general contractors and trade partners, ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, and safety standards.
- Oversee construction sequencing, logistics planning, and coordination across multiple workstreams.
- Chair and lead site meetings, including progress updates, risk reviews, and issue resolution.
- Monitor construction progress against the master schedule and support recovery planning where required.
- Review and manage change events in coordination with the client, design team, and cost managers.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Work closely with client representatives, designers, and internal leadership to resolve technical and delivery challenges.
- Support commissioning, turnover, and close-out activities, including punch lists and final inspections.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior construction and project staff.
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years’ experience delivering large-scale construction projects (data centers, mission-critical, industrial, or complex commercial preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
- Proven experience managing general contractors and multiple subcontractor packages.
- Solid experience across the construction phase, from mobilization through close-out.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel still matters, unfortunately).
Why This Role?
- Flagship data center projects with serious scale and complexity.
- A growing Midwest platform with clear, realistic progression opportunities.
- A consultancy that’s scaling fast, meaning your career can grow with the business.
- Hands-on leadership with minimal red tape.
- Exposure to some of the largest and most technically advanced projects currently underway in the US.
