With a strong presence in the education and public sectors, we specialize in navigating the complexities of design, construction, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful project delivery from concept through closeout.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Project Manager to lead projects primarily in the education (K–12 and higher education) and public sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing design and construction projects within institutional environments and be adept at handling the unique challenges of public procurement, regulatory compliance, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary representative of the client, managing all phases of capital projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Lead communication and coordination among architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
- Ensure projects meet compliance standards with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly in public and educational environments.
- Lead the procurement process including RFP development, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation in accordance with public bidding laws.
- Manage design reviews, construction progress, quality control, and closeout documentation.
- Facilitate project meetings and produce detailed progress reports for client and stakeholder groups, including school boards, municipal agencies, and university committees.
- Advocate for the client’s interests in resolving issues, driving accountability, and ensuring timely decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5–10 years of project management experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on education (K–12, higher ed) and/or public sector capital projects.
- Experience working within owner’s rep, municipal, institutional, or consulting environments preferred.
- Deep understanding of public construction delivery methods, regulatory processes, and stakeholder communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts public construction laws (if applicable) or similar public procurement frameworks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership, boards, and community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera).
