A specialist consultancy operating within the energy infrastructure sector is seeking a Cost Manager to support the front-end development and delivery of complex energy projects. The role will focus on cost management and commercial control across projects that unlock and increase power capacity for major development sites, including data centres. You will be involved from early feasibility and cost planning stages through to final account, supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing cost management services from early-stage feasibility through to project completion
- Preparing cost plans, budgets and estimates for energy and power infrastructure projects
- Managing commercial aspects of projects including procurement, valuations, change control and final accounts
- Supporting power strategy development through robust cost advice and option analysis
- Working across a varied portfolio including substations, HV cable routes and gas turbine power stations
- Liaising with DNOs, contractors, designers and other key stakeholders
- Reporting on cost, risk and commercial performance
About you:
- Experience as a Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor within energy or infrastructure projects
- Strong background in high-voltage or power-related schemes such as substations, power plants, HV cables or grid connections
- Experience within renewables including solar, wind or BESS would be advantageous
- Solid understanding of cost management across the full project lifecycle
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
