An international hospitality business is looking for a Senior Cost Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its in-house development team, delivering refurbishments and new developments across a growing European portfolio.
The business operates vibrant, design-led hospitality venues combining accommodation with bars, social spaces, live music and events. With significant investment planned across the portfolio, this is an opportunity to take ownership of varied projects typically ranging from £500k to £8m.
The Role
You will manage projects from initial feasibility through to completion, with responsibility for both cost management and contract administration. Key responsibilities include:
- Cost planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Procurement and tender management
- Contract administration throughout the construction phase
- Valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
- Commercial and project reporting
- Managing and challenging consultants and contractors
- Supporting design development and coordination
- Delivering refurbishments within live operational environments
- Regular travel to projects across Europe
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can work autonomously, remain close to the detail and confidently manage multiple projects, while knowing when to seek input from the wider team.
About You
You will ideally be a Senior QS or Cost Manager with:
- Hotel or hospitality project experience
- Strong refurbishment experience, ideally in live environments
- Demonstrable contract administration experience
- Strong pre- and post-contract cost management skills
- Experience managing projects in the £500k–£8m range
- Strong technical and commercial capability
- MRICS preferred
- Some basic CAD/design knowledge beneficial
- European project experience and additional languages advantageous
You will need to be comfortable with regular European travel and enjoy remaining hands-on with project delivery. This is particularly suited to an experienced cost professional looking for an in-house role with autonomy, international exposure and a varied pipeline of hospitality projects, rather than someone looking to move quickly away from projects into senior management.
