This is an exciting opportunity for an Acquisition Manager to join the UK’s largest self-storage group with 200 stores. About you:
- MRICS or degree or masters in property related discipline.
- A well-networked individual within the real estate sector with extensive experience of site acquisition and development gained with a developer, corporate occupier or commercial property consultancy.
- Track record of success in identifying, acquiring, obtaining planning permission and developing sites.
- A skilled and tactful negotiator; effective in a variety of scenarios, from dealing with national developers through to landlords and business owners.
- Deal driven and entrepreneurial: Enjoys doing deals, finding and creating opportunities.
- Good geographical knowledge of London & UK, with ability to travel across the country including overnight stays.
About the role:
- Proactively identify and secure sites for redevelopment or existing buildings for conversion to new self-storage facilities.
- Negotiate freehold and leasehold terms as applicable with vendors, consultants, developers, local authorities, and agents to meet the needs of our business, and to obtain the best return on investment.
- Conduct site inspections/appraisals prior to exchange of contracts and undertake site, legal and planning due diligence on prospective opportunities.
- Manage property agents to identify and deliver targets - building a network of regional contacts through agency, landlord, developers, and occupiers to drive numbers of acquisitions.
- Prepare robust, fully evaluated proposals for Executive Team and Board Approval.
- Conduct and conclude deal negotiations, utilising legal and professional advisors as necessary, ensuring proactive communication and liaison across all parties.
- Be responsible for the entire planning process alongside our external consultant team and accountable for delivering planning permission in line with the board approved business case.
