About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Stoke on Trent College as a Financial Controller, leading financial operations and reporting across the College and its associated entities. Youll play a key role in shaping financial planning, compliance, and system improvement in a values-driven, forward-thinking organisation.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the preparation of monthly and year-end accounts, audit files, and financial statements
  • Manage cashflow and oversee procurement activities
  • Support budget holders and ensure accurate forecasting
  • Maintain and improve financial systems and controls
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, asset management, and financial regulations
  • Contribute to strategic financial planning and sustainability.

What You Will Bring

  • A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong financial reporting and systems expertise
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Collaborative approach and attention to detail
  • Experience in Further Education is desirable but not essential
