Hybrid working
Division overview
Our Real Estate Division acts for NHS organisations, local government, independent health and social care providers, emergency services providers and primary healthcare providers (GPs, dentists and pharmacists). We are consistently ranked in the top tier in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK directories for Healthcare and our expertise sets us apart from the competition. Our purpose is to deliver results that matter, and our mission is to be the firm of choice for organisations who work to make a difference. We are committed to putting people first, doing the right thing and forward thinking.
The quality and breadth of work that we carry out is extremely wide. While we work in specialist sectors, the fundamentals of property law still apply. This means we deal with significant volumes of development work (for example in relation to new hospital and health centre developments as well as major Local Government regeneration schemes), landlord and tenant, asset management and major land sales. We also have a dedicated, specialist property litigation and primary care teams.
We look to recruit future trainees from our pool of paralegals. This means we are always looking for good paralegals who are willing to learn and develop in some of the most politically sensitive and exciting sectors to be involved in. As a result, we want to ensure that our paralegals gain as much practical, hands-on experience across all of our client types as possible. None of our paralegal team are sitting at their desks and carrying out mundane tasks. The whole team is actively engaged in real, substantive work for real clients, many of whom are household names carrying out vital public services. Several of our paralegals are on long-term client secondments which is another fantastic way to develop experience. We have a very strong track record of developing our own people all the way through from paralegals and trainees to partners and we plan to continue with this.
Main duties and responsibilities
The main role and responsibilities may include some or all of the following (although this is not an exhaustive list):
- Case management and case progression, supervised by our Associates, Legal Directors and Partners;

- Negotiating legal documents with the other side, with support and supervision as appropriate;
