The Team
Capsticks has an established team doing defendant clinical negligence work nationally on behalf of both NHS Trusts and GPs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team delivering this work in London or Leeds and developing existing relationships with health care organisations. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate that they have a genuine interest in healthcare, who wish to develop their career in this area of law and want to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.
The Claims Division comprises around 90 fee earners over three offices (Wimbledon, Leeds and Birmingham). The firm has been a member of NHS Resolution’s panel of lawyers since its inception. It is ranked number one in the legal directories for defendant clinical negligence work. Capsticks carries out a wide range of health care work covering inquests, regulatory matters, public law issues, judicial reviews, mental health issues and clinical risk management.
Skills
We are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Associate / Senior Associate to join our highly regarded clinical negligence team. The successful candidate will be expected to have litigation experience and be able to demonstrate an interest in defendant clinical negligence work as well as understanding the needs of our client base. The role will involve managing a caseload of claims on instructions from NHS Resolution and potentially assisting other members of the team on higher value or complex claims involving maximum severity injuries. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with a partner who will supervise your work and there will be opportunities for client contact and business development.
