Overview

The Advisory Division helps our health and social care clients across a wide range of issues, including:

  • Inquests
  • Litigation: including Court of Protection, judicial review and mental health tribunal matters
  • Mental Health and Mental Capacity law, to include Deprivation of Liberty
  • Public law, advising commissioning and service provider organisations on governance, powers and responsibilities, as well as funding and treatment decision making.
  • Governance and patient safety investigations
  • CQC and related health care regulation
  • Confidentiality
  • Information law (DPA/FOIA)

The Role and Responsibilities

The firm is looking to expand its existing Advisory team and seeks a self-motivated and ambitious solicitor, solicitor advocate or barrister to join us. This role will involve supervising and supporting a team of junior lawyers, advising clients on the above issues, working alongside a national team of leading lawyers and supportive colleagues. The work includes dealing with some of the most important and politically sensitive cases for the NHS.

Skills And Experience

The successful candidate will have demonstrable advisory experience including advocacy or an appetite to develop advocacy skills, preferably within a leading healthcare law practice. The successful candidate will therefore need to be a confident lawyer who is self-motivated and able to develop the skills to work with very senior NHS management.
