What will you be doing?

As a consultant at capSpire, your role will provide you with considerable challenge, variety and development opportunity in a client-facing environment. You will work as part of a core team delivering exciting and complex programmes for our clients such as power & gas utilities, oil majors, commodity trading houses and brokers. You will be engaging in strategically important client transformation projects based in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement custom solutions and enhancements within the Allegro platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather client requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Lead or support Allegro system upgrades, integration projects, and performance optimisation efforts.
  • Configure Allegro modules (trading, risk, logistics, accounting, etc.) as needed to meet client business requirements.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support across a variety of Allegro versions.
  • Support test planning and execution, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Deliver technical documentation, training materials, and post-go-live support.
  • Stay current on industry trends and Allegro platform updates to guide clients toward optimal solutions.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience within Allegro (Horizon or Allegro 8).
  • Proficient in .NET (C#), SQL, and Allegro's proprietary extension environment (e.g., Class Events).
  • Experience with configuring Allegro modules across front, middle, and back-office functions.
  • Solid understanding of commodity and energy trading business processes (power, gas, oil, etc.).
  • Experience with software development life cycles, Agile methodology, and change management.
  • Ability to work as part of a project team structure and deliver results with limited guidance.
  • Ability to travel to client locations as per project requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a subject matter expert or technical consultant in the Commodity Trading, Risk and Logistics business area in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of power, gas, coal, & emissions/renewables trading.
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team, including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary.
