CapRelease is a fast-growing UK fintech building the embedded finance layer for eCommerce logistics. We provide inventory-backed funding to growing eCommerce brands through partnerships with third-party logistics providers. Our platform uses proprietary data, AI and machine learning models to understand stock, sales and cash flow in real time, allowing us to fund online retailers in a faster, smarter and more flexible way than traditional lenders.
We are at an exciting stage of growth, backed by institutional investors and building a category-defining business at the intersection of fintech, AI, eCommerce and logistics. We are now looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our Belfast team.
This is a high-impact commercial role for someone who wants to help build and scale a new category of finance for eCommerce businesses. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging and converting UK eCommerce retailers into CapRelease customers. You will work across the full sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach through to discovery, qualification, funding discussions, proposal delivery, negotiation and close.
You will speak directly with founders, finance teams and operators at growing eCommerce brands, helping them understand how CapRelease can unlock working capital tied up in inventory. This role would suit someone with proven experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, commercial finance or a similar customer-facing commercial role, who now wants to step into a faster-moving fintech environment with real progression potential.
We are looking for someone who is smart, proactive, commercially curious and motivated by results. You should enjoy speaking to business owners, understanding their needs and building relationships that convert into funded customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identify and qualify UK eCommerce retailers that could benefit from CapRelease’s funding products.
- Own the full sales cycle, including outbound prospecting, discovery calls, funding needs analysis, proposal delivery, negotiation and closing.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using tools such as Salesforce, Apollo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Speak with founders, finance leads and operators to understand their growth plans, stock cycles, cash conversion cycle and funding requirements.
- Clearly explain CapRelease’s funding proposition, including how our capital works, what makes a strong fit, and how the application and funding process works.
- Develop a deep understanding of CapRelease’s product, customer profile and value proposition.
- Work closely with the commercial, underwriting and operations teams to improve messaging, qualification criteria, sales materials and conversion rates.
- Research the UK eCommerce market to identify strong target brands, sectors and opportunities.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, conversion rates, customer feedback and market trends.
- Represent CapRelease professionally in all customer and partner communications.
- Work towards ambitious targets for customer acquisition, approved applications, funded customers and capital deployed.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Management or a closely related subject.
- Demonstrable experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, commercial finance or a similar commercial role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence speaking with business owners, founders and senior decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in finance, fintech, eCommerce, lending or startups.
- A proactive, self-starting approach, with the ability to take ownership and work at pace.
- Resilience, organisation and the ability to manage a pipeline of prospects and opportunities.
- Comfortable with outbound sales, prospecting and building new customer relationships.
- Experience using CRM or sales tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar.
- Based in Belfast or able to work regularly from our Belfast office.
Desirable
- Experience selling financial services, lending products, commercial finance, working capital solutions or other B2B services.
- Experience selling to eCommerce brands, retailers or SMEs.
- Familiarity with Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, Magento or similar eCommerce platforms.
- Understanding of working capital, inventory finance, revenue-based finance or supply chain finance.
- Evidence of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in a startup, scaleup or high-growth commercial environment.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary.
- Uncapped commission linked to closed deals and funded customers.
- Equity options, giving you the opportunity to share in CapRelease’s growth.
- The chance to join an early commercial team at a pivotal stage of the company’s journey.
- Direct access to senior leadership and real input into commercial strategy.
- A fast-moving role with clear progression opportunities as the company scales.
- Exposure to fintech, AI, eCommerce, logistics and alternative finance.
- A supportive, ambitious team environment where ownership, learning and results are recognised.
Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who wants more than a standard sales job. It is for someone who wants to learn quickly, take ownership and build a serious commercial career in fintech. If you are commercially curious, motivated by targets and excited by the idea of helping eCommerce businesses access the capital they need to grow, we would like to hear from you.
