Caprae Capital Partners is a private equity fund led by the principal Kevin Hong, who has been a serial tech entrepreneur. The fund originated with two additional tech entrepreneur friends of Kevin who have had significant exits to Twitter and Square. The fund is now looking for additional opportunities that would be a good fit.

If you have a passion for finance, particularly private equity, as well as ESG and happen to be a mission-driven person, this is a great fit for you. Additionally, given the recent expansion of this particular firm, you will have the opportunity to work from the ground level and take on a leadership role for the internship program which could result in a paid role. This is also a great role for those who are looking into strategy and consulting roles in the future as it will give you the exposure and experience necessary to develop strong business acumen.

Description of the Work
  • Contribute ideas regarding industries in which to look for target companies based on the fund’s search criteria.
  • Research industries to assess attractiveness (growth, profitability, trends, fragmentation, investment thesis).
  • Contact companies to set up phone meetings.
  • Work closely with the executive team and product/project management team to help bring on vendor partners and integrate their services into our software.
  • List and evaluate potential M&A opportunities in select markets.
  • 3-month internship but those who are selected may extend their internship and will have the opportunity to resume the internship as a paid intern if performance is good.
  • Those who make it to a paid intern have an opportunity of getting a full-time offer.
Ideal Candidate
  • Must be an undergraduate student with a career interest in Finance, Private Equity, Banking, Corporate Strategy, or Market Research.
  • Must be fluent in French.
  • Strong research and analysis skills.
  • Intellectually mature, able to understand screening criteria, then make subjective judgments to recommend target companies. Able to deliver accurate work, per committed dates, to a senior executive.
  • Ability to talk to company owners credibly.
  • Strong social skills and willingness to travel if needed and/or qualifications are met.
  • Additional language skills are a huge plus.
