We are looking for a proactive and reliable Yards person to play a key role in supporting our civils reactive contract. This is a hands-on position at the heart of our operations, where you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficiently run yard, alongside managing plant, stock, and procurement activities. You will ensure plant equipment is tracked, inspected, and ready for use, coordinate hires, manage stock levels, and support the purchasing of materials. The role also involves carrying out basic repairs where possible, organising vehicle maintenance, and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in organisation, and wants to contribute to a high-performing team.

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is a special purpose joint venture established to deliver wastewater network maintenance and repair services for Southern Water across the South of England. We focus on keeping sewer networks operating efficiently through planned maintenance, emergency response and rehabilitation works. Our capability is underpinned by a substantial fleet of specialist vehicles including vacuum tankers, jetting units and CCTV survey equipment, supported by advanced technology for rapid diagnostics and effective solutions. With a reputation for safety, reliability and technical expertise, Cappagh Browne plays a critical role in protecting communities and maintaining essential infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a yard, construction, or civils environment (desirable but not essential)
- Basic IT skills and confidence using systems to manage stock and records
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Proactive, reliable, and positive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- Full UK driving licence
