As a Supervisor within the Clean Water Framework team at Cappagh Contractors, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of site crews conducting construction, maintenance, and repair works on clean water infrastructure. You will ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality, whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise site teams conducting clean water network works, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality always.
- Allocate tasks and resources, coordinate site activities, and provide clear instructions to crew members.
- Monitor daily progress and keep accurate records of work completed, reporting updates and issues to the Field Operations Manager or Site Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting site inspections and safety briefings as required.
- Consult with clients, local authorities, and customers as needed, representing Cappagh professionally on site.
- Support the induction, mentoring, and development of new or less experienced staff.
- Resolve any on-site problems or obstacles quickly and effectively to avoid delays.
- Ensure all site paperwork, permits, and records are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintain good relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other third parties involved in site operations.
- Uphold Cappagh’s reputation for service quality and customer care.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a supervisor or lead operative in civil engineering, utilities, or water sector projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct site teams.
- Good understanding of water industry standards, regulations, and construction methods.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements (e.g., NRSWA, CDM regulations).
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills, able to manage changing priorities.
- Confident communicator, both verbally and in written site documentation.
- IT literate – able to use basic project management or reporting tools.
- Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
- Professional certification (e.g., CSCS, SSSTS, EUSR Water Hygiene) preferred.
- NRSWA Supervisor’s accreditation desirable.
