Our client is a globally established fiduciary and financial services provider operating across trust, corporate, fund administration and wealth structuring. With offices spanning the globe and a large, dynamic workforce, this is a business operating at genuine scale, serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals, private equity-backed businesses, multinational corporates and asset managers across some of the most complex ownership and investment structures in the market. This is not a traditional accountancy or consulting firm. It is a high-touch, director-led financial services platform with significant private equity backing. Since its founding, the business has completed multiple acquisitions across numerous jurisdictions and continues to grow, supported by active capital and a clear mandate for further expansion.
The Corporate Tax Director role sits at the heart of a well-established London tax function and sits in close partnership with the Head of Tax. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, the Corporate Tax Director will take a leading role in shaping the strategic direction of the department, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the highest standards of client delivery across a sophisticated and varied portfolio. The mandate spans complex compliance oversight, substantial direct advisory work, and a genuine contribution to business development, with real scope for cross-border and international advisory engagement as the business continues its global expansion.
This is an opportunity for someone with genuine ambition to step into a leadership position that carries real weight. The successful candidate will help set departmental strategy, lead on new business proposals, and build strong cross-departmental relationships to drive joined-up client service across the wider group. There is a clear succession dimension to this hire, with the opportunity to become an increasingly senior and influential figure within the department over time.
Day-to-day, the role encompasses technical review of UK corporate tax compliance for the most complex clients, leadership of special project and advisory work, WIP and billing management, input into departmental workload planning, and the coaching, appraisal and development of a growing team of qualified and part-qualified professionals.
The ideal candidate will be a UK professionally qualified tax professional, with a strong track record of managing a mid-sized team. Candidates will need to demonstrate both technical depth across UK corporate tax, including transfer pricing, CIR, R&D tax credits and share schemes, and the commercial energy to contribute meaningfully to business development and sales performance. Given the international nature of the client base, practical exposure to tax treaties, withholding tax, transfer pricing and permanent establishment matters would be a distinct advantage. Experience of working with globally headquartered businesses, including those in the technology sector, would also be well regarded.
This is the kind of role that comes to market rarely, a senior corporate tax position outside of the traditional professional services environment, with genuine strategic scope, an international client base, and a PE-backed platform that continues to expand.
