Senior Manager - Transaction Tax (Private Equity & Credit)

Full-Time On-site
Capital Tax Recruitment

A leading professional services firm is looking for an experienced Transaction Tax Senior Manager to join its Private Equity & Credit team. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-profile part of the firm's wider tax practice, supporting some of the most significant deals in the market.

The team advises private equity houses and credit institutions across the full transaction lifecycle, from buy-side and sell-side due diligence through to structuring, refinancing, restructuring, and listing support.

The work involves helping clients identify and quantify historical tax exposures, structure deals efficiently, model tax outcomes and ensure advice is properly reflected in the legal documentation behind each transaction, always with an eye on maximising value across the investment cycle.

You'll collaborate with colleagues across an international network, often working on deals that span multiple countries, tax regimes, and workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with senior leadership on complex transactions, delivering high-quality advice and client service
  • Contribute to business development, including proposals and client pitches
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients alongside the wider deal team
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, legal advisers, and internal specialists to ensure smooth delivery
  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues within a collaborative, learning-focused environment
  • Lead the preparation of technical tax advice spanning UK and international issues
  • Review and analyse tax-related documentation and data, translating findings into clear commercial insight for clients
  • Work alongside tax specialists in other jurisdictions, reviewing and challenging their analysis
  • Stay current on UK and international tax developments relevant to transactions
  • Interpret financial models through a tax lens
  • Contribute to internal and external thought leadership on transaction tax matters

About You

  • Professionally qualified (CTA, ACA/CA, or equivalent)
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic, with a real interest in transaction-based work
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Solid grounding in UK corporate tax, with broader awareness of related tax and accounting matters
  • Strong analytical mindset with a commercial, curious approach to problem-solving
  • Confident project management skills, comfortable both leading and working within a team
  • A proactive attitude toward identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Proven ability to build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing junior team members
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint capability

The role is flexible across major UK cities, with multiple regional office options available
