Office & Field Based | Full-Time | UK Travel Required | 3-Month Fixed Term Contract
Capital Outsourcing Group is working in partnership with a leading UK fibre infrastructure provider to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale fibre network build programmes across the UK. This is a senior, hands-on role with full responsibility for the end-to-end management of fibre rollout projects, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, on time, and within budget. You’ll play a key role in driving operational performance while coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
Salary: Negotiable, £50,000–£60,000 pro rata
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple fibre build projects from mobilisation through to final handover. You’ll balance time between office-based planning and field-based delivery, working closely with site teams to maintain quality, safety, and programme milestones.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full lifecycle of fibre network build projects
- Producing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers
- Spending approximately 50% of your time on-site overseeing delivery teams
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources to ensure programme delivery
- Tracking progress, managing RAID logs, and resolving issues proactively
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Streetworks regulations, and company standards
- Coordinating procurement and overseeing project-related commercial activities
- Monitoring budgets and forecasts, with responsibility for up to £10m annual project revenue
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, local authorities, and internal departments (design, operations, commercial)
- Chairing project meetings and providing clear, regular progress updates
- Conducting site inspections, quality checks, and safety audits
- Driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
About You
You’ll be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in UK telecoms or infrastructure delivery, comfortable managing complex programmes in fast-paced environments.
Essential experience:
- 4–5+ years’ experience delivering fibre, telecoms, or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects
- Strong knowledge of FTTx delivery, civil engineering, and construction best practice
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Confident using project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira
- A practical, solutions-driven approach with strong commercial awareness
Qualifications & Certifications (Preferred)
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or AgilePM
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- NRSWA Supervisor
- Asbestos Awareness
- Full UK Driving Licence
