We are seeking an experienced and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical skills, welding and fabrication experience, and a problem-solving mindset. You will play a vital role in maintaining factory machinery, minimising downtime, and supporting safe and efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and production-critical issues
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across all site equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults on grading, weighing, washing, and packing machinery
- Maintain mechanical systems including motors, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Support hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repairs
- Complete welding and fabrication work for repairs and bespoke projects
- Ensure all machinery is maintained to engineering and safety standards
- Assist with investigations into foreign object complaints and implement corrective actions
- Carry out occasional maintenance of buildings and site services
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and industry regulations
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a multi-skilled engineering role within manufacturing or production
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to fault-find and work effectively under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of health & safety and food safety standards
