We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join a backend team based in our London office.

What you’ll do

1. Work as part of a self-organized Services engineering team to design and develop software features for credit card consumers.
2. Focus on a major portion of existing or new software, such as significant components, features, or services.
3. Align with the goals and vision shared by Product Management and your Tribe Leadership.
4. Drive engineering best practices (Operational Excellence, Security, Quality) and set standards across teams.
5. Innovate within your team and contribute within your technical domain.

What we’re looking for

1. Proven experience in technical leadership with a passion for mentoring engineers.
2. Knowledge of creating architectural designs that meet business needs.
3. Exceptional programming skills, preferably in Java, with understanding of SOLID principles, SOA, HTTP, and REST.
4. Effective communication and collaboration skills to maximize internal sourcing and reduce waste.
5. Ability to deliver high-quality applications at scale.
6. Advocacy for quality, utilizing approaches like Pair Programming, TDD, and BDD.

This is a permanent position based in our London office with a hybrid working model, requiring presence in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
