About This Role

We are passionate about the credit card products we offer and want to reach as many new customers as possible. We have big ambitions as a team to support business growth and to continue to deliver exceptional, market-leading experiences for our customers. This is where you come in. Working collaboratively with the wider marketing team, external agencies, and teams across the business, you will find and deliver opportunities to improve our connection with our customers across AI Search channels, and enhance our strategies with AI and other market leading technologies - helping our business to grow. As we work in a highly regulated industry, you will need to balance pursuing growth opportunities, while also communicating and appropriately managing risks. In all of this, you will be supported by a great team with shared goals and who care about your development.

What You’ll Do

  • Take ownership of AI insight and strategy within Search - driving visibility of our brand within AI / Generative Search channels, understanding AI market trends, and exploring opportunities to use AI to enhance Search strategy.
  • Collaborate with the team’s SEO lead to ensure our SEO strategy supports GEO - i.e is effective for AI / Generative Search visibility.
  • Oversee our site structure, AI-specific technical files, metadata and schemas, making sure that content is machine readable - including to LLMs / Generative Search Engines.
  • Build Off-Site Authority by managing the brand’s reputation on "source" platforms that AI models favor and collaborating closely with the PR team.
  • Design advanced prompts to simulate user intent clusters and audit existing content for AI readability.
  • Explore additional opportunities to improve GEO and develop a roadmap for a GEO agenda, prioritising between initiatives and working with internal stakeholders to align on a delivery plan.
  • Advance monitoring of the brand’s performance in AI Search channels, and the use of AI in the Search landscape - identify trends and actionable insights, and surfacing these to the team and wider business through regular reporting.
  • Play a key role in our AI Marketing working group: continuously assess evolving AI market dynamics and scope opportunities to use AI, and other leading technologies, to enhance our customer experiences, or support marketing strategy delivery.
  • Understand the customer journey inside AI chats, including how to optimise the experience and deliver business growth.
  • Collaborate with the team’s Adtech lead to ensure our Search data infrastructure supports our AI strategy.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure APIs and content delivery systems are AI-crawlable.

What We’re Looking For

  • You’ll have a passion to learn, will want to make a positive difference and be excited about how we can grow.
  • You’ll want to think about interesting, difficult problems, share your thoughts and make recommendations - and be able to think creatively, and explore different routes to solving problems.
  • You’ll be a great communicator, able to effectively convey messages to our marketing partners and senior stakeholders within the business - and you enjoy working collaboratively with associates from across the business.
  • You’ll be able to take ownership of your area, and work with a proactive mindset - taking the initiative to identify and drive opportunities, and prioritising effectively across multiple projects and deliverables.
  • You’ll have good experience in SEO, including in optimising technical site structure.
  • You’ll also understand key dynamics of AI / Generative (vs traditional) Search, and, ideally, have some experience in GEO.
  • You’ll have a deep understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) like Gemini, GPT-5, and Claude retrieve, summarise, and rank information.
  • You’ll have experience in structuring content with direct, declarative answers to maximise citation probability.
  • You’ll understand AI-specific protocols to proactively invite or guide model crawlers.
  • You’ll be excited by the opportunities and challenges of using new technologies, and have experience in designing and implementing new, innovative experiences and/or processes.
  • You’ll have good judgement: you’ll be able to assess risks and opportunities, and balance trade offs, to identify the smartest path to our goals.
  • You’ll have strong reasoning skills, and - whether demonstrated through academic or professional experience - you’ll be at ease with numbers and data, and enjoy solving problems with these components.
  • You’ll have experience in a high-growth organization, where you were accountable for KPIs.

Where And How You’ll Work

This is a permanent position and can be based in our Nottingham or London offices. We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our Nottingham or London office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. What’s In It For You

Bring us all this - and you’ll be well rewarded with a role contributing to the roadmap of an organisation committed to transformation. We offer high performers strong and diverse career progression, investing heavily in developing great people through our Capital One University training programmes (and appropriate external providers). Immediate access to our core benefits including pension scheme, bonus, generous holiday entitlement and private medical insurance – with flexible benefits available including season-ticket loans, cycle to work scheme and enhanced parental leave. Open-plan workspaces and accessible facilities designed to inspire and support you. Our Nottingham head-office has a fully-serviced gym, subsidised restaurant, mindfulness and music rooms. In London, you can heighten your mood with a run on our rooftop running track or an espresso at the Workshop Coffee café.
