We are passionate about the credit card products we offer and want to reach as many new customers as possible. We have big ambitions as a team to support business growth and to continue to deliver exceptional, market‑leading experiences for our customers. This is where you come in. We are looking for someone with deep experience across the ad tech and martech landscape, where you will drive the development & execution of strategies that integrate and optimise a suite of digital marketing technologies.
As a subject matter expert, you will act as a connector and be required to collaborate closely with marketing teams, external agencies, and wider teams across the business to ensure seamless implementation and management across the stack. As we work in a highly regulated industry, you will need to balance pursuing opportunities to advance our data infrastructure, while also communicating and appropriately managing risks. In all of this, you will be supported by a great team with shared goals and who care about your development.
What you’ll do:
- Design and evolve our media tech stack to align with marketing needs and site updates.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new ad technologies, platforms and partners.
- Design and execute our holistic ad tech and martech strategies.
- Take ownership of Marketing data – manage and maintain the health of our marketing data infrastructure, ensuring we collect relevant, useful data and can access and use it effectively.
- Undertake platform governance to manage structure integrity and consistency of ad accounts like Google, Meta and various Demand‑Side Platforms (DSP).
- Own event tracking development and data accuracy across web and mobile environments by partnering with developers and utilizing tag management systems.
- Champion data quality: ensure all data practices are compliant, and that the team has appropriate processes and standards to ensure data is reliable and complete.
- Design automated audience cohort strategies to align with internal insights and leverage first‑party data to improve customer targeting and engagement through seamless integrations.
- Partner with analytics teams to resolve tracking discrepancies and support data integration within tools like Google Analytics (GA4).
- Be the key point of contact for Digital Marketing data and reporting, and support the wider team's data use by empowering them with the right access, tools, and understanding of the data for their analysis.
- Input into the design and development of data‑driven attribution (DDA) and media mix modelling (MMM) to build an accurate picture of touchpoint value contribution and media planning.
You’ll have a passion to learn, will want to make a positive difference and be excited about how we can grow. You’ll want to think about interesting, difficult problems, share your thoughts and make recommendations – and be able to think creatively, and explore different routes to solving problems. You’ll be a great communicator, able to effectively convey messages to our marketing partners and senior stakeholders within the business – and you enjoy working collaboratively with associates from across the business. You’ll explain technical concepts in an easy to understand way.
You’ll be able to take ownership of your area, and work with a proactive mindset – taking the initiative to identify and drive opportunities, and prioritising effectively across multiple projects and deliverables. You’ll have good experience in Adtech, like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), Campaign Manager 360 (CM360), Tealium, Snowflake, Tableau, Supermetrics and more. You’ll also have experience querying databases – ideally using SQL, or a similar language. You’ll be proficient working with numbers and data, have strong reasoning skills, and be able to critically analyse data outputs – extracting insights and bringing these to life with clear visualisations. You’ll have good judgement: you’ll be able to assess risks and opportunities, and balance trade offs, to identify the smartest path to our goals.
We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our Nottingham or London office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Many of our associates have flexible working arrangements, and we’re open to talking about an arrangement that works for you.
What’s in it for you:
- Bring us all this – and you’ll be well rewarded with a role contributing to the roadmap of an organisation committed to transformation.
- We offer high performers strong and diverse career progression, investing heavily in developing great people through our Capital One University training programmes (and appropriate external providers).
- Immediate access to our core benefits including pension scheme, bonus, generous holiday entitlement and private medical insurance – with flexible benefits available including season‑ticket loans, cycle to work scheme and enhanced parental leave.
- Open‑plan workspaces and accessible facilities designed to inspire and support you. Our Nottingham head‑office has a fully‑serviced gym, subsidised restaurant, mindfulness and music rooms. In London, you can heighten your mood with a run on our rooftop running track or an espresso at the Workshop Coffee café.
We pride ourselves on hiring the best people, not the same people. Building diverse and inclusive teams is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do. We want to work with top talent: whoever you are, whatever you look like, wherever you come from. We know it’s about what you do, not just what you say. That’s why we make our recruitment process fair and accessible. And we offer benefits that attract people at all ages and stages.
We also partner with organisations including the Women in Finance and Race At Work Charters, Stonewall and upReach to find people from every walk of life and help them thrive with us. We have a whole host of internal networks and support groups you could be involved in, to name a few:
