Financial Support Advisor

Overview

Financial Support Advisor at Capital One. You will help customers understand complex information by explaining it in clear terms, support them through challenging and sensitive situations, and signpost them to wider support such as debt charities or wellbeing organisations. You may collaborate with third parties to help put plans in place.

Where and how you’ll work

Capital One invests in training and development with a blended learning and support programme (in-person, remote and self-learning). Training hours are 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. After training you’ll move to rotating shifts; details may vary by department.

What you’ll do

• Remain customer-focused and place customers at the centre of every decision
• Understanding customers’ financial situations, budgeting, and what payments are affordable
• Use judgment to assess the right outcome for the customer
• Handle a schedule that may include various shift patterns (example shown below) and possible changes

Example shift details (subject to department needs): Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30 or 09:00–17:30; some hours 10:00–18:00, with weekend work every other Saturday (8:00–17:00). After training, transition to mostly remote work with occasional office days every two weeks for team activities; more office time can be arranged if preferred. The Collections department operates 08:00–20:00 Monday–Friday and 08:00–17:00 on Saturdays.
