Overview

Location: London or Nottingham - Hybrid (3 days in-office Tue–Thu, 2 days remote).

This is a permanent role as Financial Services Social Media Lead (Senior Associate) reporting to the Head of Brand and PR.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Own the overarching strategy for Capital One’s social media presence in the UK: define the role and content plan for each channel, establishing how the brand shows up authentically on each, while ensuring a cohesive narrative and tone of voice.
  • Work with the PR and paid media teams on end-to-end delivery of integrated, multi-channel owned and earned campaigns, from briefing to final sign-off.
  • Own and champion the content creator strategy: identify partners and ensure content is compliant and on-message.
  • Collaborate with the performance marketing team to integrate social media with the wider marketing agenda, including GEO and AI discoverability.
  • Coordinate with international partner teams to ensure compliance with International Brand Governance Standards.
  • Brief internal and external creative teams, leveraging insights on competitor activity and best practice.
  • Oversee production of social media campaign materials (visual assets and copy), ensuring communications stay on-brand and relevant.
  • Report on KPIs including campaign measurements and brand metrics at a regular cadence.
  • Foster connections between Brand and wider teams to drive a regular drumbeat of content.
  • Own projects end-to-end, managing both long-term and short-term initiatives and seeking opportunities to drive impact.
  • The Skills And Experience You Need
  • Creative and analytical mindset: craft campaigns grounded in insight and navigate data to demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to articulate the value of social media to stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills; experience working with external agencies as an extension of the team.
  • Curiosity about emerging social media trends and opportunities.
  • Experience managing a busy workload with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with creative agencies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Resilience and a solution-focused mindset; willingness to grow into bigger responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing an organic social media strategy (preferably in-house).
  • Preferred: experience in financial services or another regulated sector.
  • Preferred: CIPR/CIM qualification.
  • Where and How You'll Work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham or London office.

We embrace a hybrid approach: three days in the office (Tuesday–Thursday), with Monday and Friday as remote work.
