Capital One is seeking Site Reliability Engineers passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to transform its Digital Payments platform.
What You’ll Do
- Join the SRE team responsible for managing the Digital Payments platform of Discover, a global payments network.
- Improve the reliability of platforms supporting digital wallets and payments platforms that run high‑volume transactions.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience using infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform and Ansible to achieve end‑to‑end automation.
- Good knowledge of programming and scripting tools (Python, Bash, Cucumber, JMeter, Gatling).
- Hands‑on experience with UNIX environments, load balancers, and GTM’s.
- Experience with observability tools such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Datadog, Splunk.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and orchestration (AWS, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Ability to diagnose performance, reliability, and security issues in distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills for forensic analysis and resilience gap identification.
- Experience mentoring peers and promoting a culture of reliability and automation.
- Strong documentation skills for technical problems and post‑mortems.
- Comfort with multiple high‑priority efforts and flexible prioritisation.
- Experience with database or streaming platforms (Kafka or Postgres).
Where and how you’ll work
This is a permanent position based in our Farnborough office. We have a hybrid working model that gives you flexibility to work from the office or home. You’ll be based in Farnborough two days a week.
