You will create order and sense out of complexity and uncertainty and enable confident, data-inspired decision making.

You will thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative environment that values unique perspectives, rewards innovation, and challenges the status quo. As an integral member of the team, you will have a high level of exposure across the business, partnering closely with senior business and risk office leaders, Marketing & Analytics, compliance, legal, and Operational Risk Management.

What you’ll do:

  • Test the design and effectiveness of the business controls
  • Support the redesign and improvement of controls
  • Make recommendations to various senior stakeholders across the UK business
  • Manage projects to implement broadscale control enhancements
  • Facilitate workshops to identify risks and controls
  • Produce regular process health reporting for internal stakeholders
  • Build, establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including 2nd Line Testing and Compliance Advisors

What we’re looking for:

  • Risk management experience and/or project management experience, or a desire to learn and grow your career in this field.
  • An ability to self-identify improvements to improve efficiency, and then execute them
  • Previous experience of working in a highly-regulated industry and/or corporate environment
  • Workshop facilitation
  • Great stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of different people
  • Able to partner within and beyond the team, building productive, cross-business relationships
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain focused and flexible in a changing environment

Where and how you’ll work:

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham offices. We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Many of our associates have flexible working arrangements, and we’re open to talking about an arrangement that works for you.

What’s in it for you:

Bring us all this - and you’ll be well rewarded with a role contributing to the roadmap of an organisation committed to transformation. We offer high performers strong and diverse career progression, investing heavily in developing great people through our Capital One University training programmes (and appropriate external providers). Immediate access to our core benefits including pension scheme, bonus, generous holiday entitlement and private medical insurance – with flexible benefits available including season-ticket loans, cycle to work scheme and enhanced parental leave. Open-plan workspaces and accessible facilities designed to inspire and support you. Our Nottingham head-office has a fully-serviced gym, subsidised restaurant, mindfulness and music rooms. In London, you can heighten your mood with a run on our rooftop running track or an espresso at the Workshop Coffee café.

We want to work with top talent: whoever you are, whatever you look like, wherever you come from. We know it’s about what you do, not just what you say.
