Our Mission

We're on a mission to be a force for good in lending. Throughout our almost 30-year history, we've consistently been recognised as a great place to work; in 2026, Capital One was officially ranked 9th in the UK's Best Workplaces list.

About the role

As a Process Architecture and Governance Lead, you will be accountable for ensuring robust process documentation, governance, and performance monitoring across all functional areas. Operating autonomously, you will lead, plan, and deliver end-to-end process mapping and governance initiatives across the UK business. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sound risk management, driving process optimisation initiatives while empowering the wider team. Furthermore, you will have the autonomy to champion AI-driven process optimisation, ensuring our business scales effectively through smart technology.

What you'll do

  • Establish Frameworks & Standards: Define and implement frameworks for process documentation and monitoring across the UK business, embedding standardised documentation to eliminate departmental silos.
  • Deliver End-to-End Projects: Manage process-related projects from initial discovery through to successful launch, which includes documenting new processes and identifying performance gaps to keep the business "well-managed".
  • Upskill & Coach Teams: Create and lead workshops to train, coach, and upskill Process Managers in process excellence tools and methodologies.
  • Influence Stakeholders: Actively influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders and Product Owners across the business to safeguard process integrity.
  • Drive AI Optimisation: Actively experiment with and refine how process maps are structured, ensuring unstructured business data is formatted so LLMs and AI querying tools can parse it effectively to maximise high-quality, automated insights.

The skills and experience you need

  • Process & Governance Expertise: Solid experience in process management, process improvement methodologies, and risk/governance frameworks, ideally supported by an awareness of Lean / Six Sigma tools.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply 80/20 thinking to complex process problems, successfully balancing rapid throughput with robust risk management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships, influence teams, and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
  • AI & Data Literacy: A genuine passion for emerging AI technologies, with an understanding of how to structure process maps to maximise the precision and reliability of AI-generated continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Training Delivery: Highly organised with demonstrated experience in delivering training or workshops to groups either face-to-face or online.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You'll spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday-Thursday), with Monday and Friday being dedicated work-from-home days. Our offices are designed to inspire and support you. At our Nottingham head office, you'll find an on-site gym, restaurant and dedicated Learning Loft. Our London office boasts a rooftop running track and coffee bar.

What's in it for you

We invest in the growth of our people alongside our business. You will have extensive opportunities to learn and develop your career, including access to up to £5,000 in funding for external qualifications. In addition to career development, our comprehensive benefits package is designed to grow with you, ensuring your wellbeing is prioritised at every stage of your career:

  • Wealth & Future: Competitive pension and performance-based bonus schemes
  • Holidays: Start with 25 days of annual leave, increasing with tenure. Need more? You have the option to buy 5 additional days.
  • Health: Access premium care through our private medical insurance.
  • Family Support: We champion your milestones with enhanced parental leave.
