Role Overview

Lead Data Analyst – responsible for leading data strategy, analysis, and governance to support strategic initiatives in Capital One’s UK operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and govern robust data solutions, including complex data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to deliver advanced data solutions, tools, and self‑service frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities across diverse data sources to generate strategic insights and champion emerging technologies.
  • Act as subject‑matter expert in key data domains, providing guidance and representing data value across the business.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the data team to foster a collaborative culture and ensure consistent delivery.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in senior data roles with advanced coding, data transformation, and end‑to‑end solution design.
  • Expert SQL and relational database knowledge, with proficiency in at least one additional language (Python, R).
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven technical leadership, managing competing priorities and promoting data best practices.
  • Risk awareness and adaptability within fast‑moving environments.
