Salary: £55,500 plus a £5,000 joining bonus

Location: Nottingham and London

Hybrid: 3 days in-office (Tuesday to Thursday)

Start date: 13th September 2027

Eligibility: Students graduating in 2027, or have graduated in 2026 with a STEM or Economics degree. This includes undergraduates, masters and PhD students. You’ll also need strong quantitative skills and A-Level Maths (or equivalent).

Sponsorship: We’re able to sponsor if you currently have the right to work in the UK (including student/graduate visas)

The role:

  • Our Strategy Analysts shape key business decisions across the customer lifecycle, from idea to execution.
  • They form strategic recommendations supported by great analytical insight, get buy-in from senior leadership, and deliver change in market with cross-functional teams.
  • You will be based in one of our strategy teams, with a peer buddy, mentor and manager on hand to help you get up to speed.
  • We will train you to use best-in-class coding and analytical tools, and then you’ll get your first project to lead.
  • As you become more experienced, you’ll grow your impact further.
  • Rotations are a core part of the culture, helping our graduates become well-rounded, strategic thinkers.

As a Strategy Analyst you could be:

  • Finding innovative ways to attract new customers and ensure our products meet their needs.
  • Redesigning our card pricing strategy to maximise value.
  • Creating strategies to support our customers to manage their finances, build their credit, or protect them from fraud.
  • Considering how we should adapt our lending policy to a changing macroeconomic environment.

What we are looking for:

  • To set you up for success we ask that you have or are currently studying towards a STEM or Economics degree, and have a Maths A Level (or equivalent).
  • We’re looking for someone who has excellent quantitative skills, can solve complex business problems with a data-driven approach, has clear and effective written & verbal communication, is motivated to drive business change, and has curiosity to learn and take ownership of your work and development.
  • You do not need any prior coding experience - we will train you up.

The Recruitment Process:

  • Step 1: Apply! There’s no need to tailor your CV or attach a cover letter. After your initial application, if you meet the eligibility criteria you’ll complete online testing, which assesses the core behavioural and quantitative skills required for the role.
  • Step 2: We’ll be looking to understand your motivations and interest in the role and Capital One.
  • Step 3: You’ll then get to (virtually) meet with one of our Strategy Analysts to complete a case study interview.
  • Step 4: The in-person assessment day, which consists of a final case study and individual product interview.

Where and how you’ll work:

This is a permanent full-time position based in either our Nottingham or London office. We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You’ll spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday to Thursday), with Monday and Friday being optional work-from-home days.
