Capital One is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Senior Associate Auditor interested in becoming part of our International Audit team. As a member of the International team, the candidate will focus on audits related to consumer lending, primarily across the UK & Canada lines of business (including limited travel mostly based out of our Nottingham office).

What you'll do:

  • Leverage available data and analytical tools during the planning and fieldwork phases of audit delivery.
  • Perform risk assessments of business activities and perform relevant testing based on the risks and processes associated with the area being audited.
  • Assist in communicating issues, risks and recommendations to all levels of management.
  • Operate independently and ensure work is completed to schedule and meets our high-quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key business partners and the extended Audit group.
  • Proactively follow-up on agreed audit actions to ensure management delivers their commitments within the agreed timescales.
  • Proactively seek out learning opportunities to enhance skills and competencies related to role.
  • Very occasionally travel to North America to perform audit engagements, typically less than twice a year, although we are flexible to personal circumstances.

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, IIA, or equivalent) or significant experience in an audit, risk, or compliance role.
  • Proven history of contributing to the delivery of internal or external audit, risk or compliance engagements.
  • You're a firm believer that a rich understanding of data, innovation, and technology will only make you a better auditor. This will require leveraging the power of data analytics and furthering your technical expertise.
  • You are a critical thinker who seeks to understand the business and its control environment.
  • You focus on quality and timeliness.
  • You adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, and are intellectually curious.
  • You like to ask questions, test assumptions, and challenge conventional thinking.
  • You develop influential relationships based upon shared risk objectives and trust to deliver outstanding business impact and elevate Audit's value proposition.
  • You create energy and an environment that fosters trust, collaboration, and belonging, making it easy to attract, hire, and retain top talent.

We are committed to creating a level playing field and seek to create teams that are representative of our customers and the communities we serve. We'd love to hear from you if you identify with a typically under-represented group in our industry and are particularly keen to hear from women, the LGBTQ+ community and ethnic minority candidates.

Where and how you'll work:

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. We have a hybrid working model, so you'll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and can work from home on Monday and Friday. Many of our associates have flexible working arrangements, and we're open to talking about an arrangement that works for you.

What's in it for you:

Bring us all this - and you'll be well rewarded with a role contributing to the roadmap of an organisation committed to transformation. We offer high performers strong and diverse career progression, investing heavily in developing great people through our Capital One University training programmes (and appropriate external providers). Immediate access to our core benefits including pension scheme, bonus, generous holiday entitlement and private medical insurance - with flexible benefits available including season-ticket loans, cycle to work scheme and enhanced parental leave.
