You and the Role
The UK Connect team supports Capital One’s UK Contact Centre operation run using Amazon Connect on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The team sits at the intersection of enabling a busy contact centre across voice and chat channels, delivering on its own platform roadmap, and ensuring secure and stable service. You will lead by example, set engineering standards and mentor peers while working on a variety of technical challenges.
Technology Stack
- Node/TypeScript or Go for primary software development.
- AWS Serverless Ecosystem – Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3.
- Amazon Connect Customer and the custom‑built front‑end portal.
- Jenkins for infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline management.
- Monitoring & Logging tools such as Logz.io and NewRelic.
Qualifications & Experience
- Production‑grade experience of software engineering and knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong leadership by example, setting engineering best practices, and mentoring other engineers.
- Experience designing and owning software deployment from start to finish, including back‑end architectural and design patterns.
- Commitment to data sensitivity and quality, emphasizing test‑driven development and resiliency.
- Familiarity with automation and proactive system optimisation, including incident management; on‑call rota participation is possible.
- Preference for candidates comfortable with hybrid working – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite.
Where and How You’ll Work
This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. You will spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday‑Thursday) with Monday and Friday dedicated to work‑from‑home.
